Here at Hollow Creek, the sorting ceremony happens a little differently than some of the other schools. Students are called up one at a time and asked to stand in the center of a ritual circle, with a chalice at each of the four points of the compass. Ancient magic then moves through the lines that have been etched into the floor, connecting the student to each of the directions. This magic sees into the deepest corners of their soul, finding all of the secrets that even they have yet to discover. And with this in mind, the magic makes a decision of where the student would flourish the best.
Fire to the north signifies Ignus House.
Water to the south signifies Unda House.
Earth to the east signifies Terra House.
Air to the west signifies Aura House.
In the event that more than one element makes its presence known, the student is then asked to consider where they might like to be. It then becomes their choice of where they reside over the course of their education. These instances are few and far between, but they always caution you to choose wisely if you are one such student. This decision will affect the rest of your life.
